One of the themes of the past year in robotics was the team-ups between robotics suppliers and companies better known for software, artificial intelligence, and cloud services. A good example was Dematic’s partnership with Google Cloud to analyze sensor data from warehouse automation.
The companies said they expect to accelerate innovation, obtain useful insights, and improve operational efficiencies.
“How do we get data and visibility into inventory flows so it goes where customers need when they need it?” asked Chris Shaver, global vice president for product management at Dematic. He told Robotics 24/7 about four steps in the “supply chain journey” that Dematic discusses with its customers.
