The BOS R072K cubic retro-reflective sensors Entry Line.

Sensor and automation technologies specialist Balluff Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of Balluff GmbH, announced the launch of its latest photoelectric sensors.

The company said the new BOS R072K Optical Sensor Entry Line features a streamlined design that easily and seamlessly integrates into existing operations. Sensor functionalities include retroreflective, through-beam, diffuse and background suppression

Sensor details

Balluff said the BOS R072K Optical Sensor Entry Line is versatile enough to accommodate a broad range of variants and operating principles. Variants include red light and infrared; connectors, cables and pigtails; and optional potentiometers and light on/dark on switches. The company added that this flexibility allows for sensor customization across multiple system setups and integrations.

Standardized mounting hole distance on the sensors makes installation easy, according to Balluff. Versatile connection options provide flexibility for different applications or environments. A compact IP67 housing offers protection from potential debris, moisture or contaminants.

The illuminated 360° LED indicator visually relays the sensor status to operators, and the multi-piece sensor packaging consolidates units for more convenience and less waste.

In October 2025, Balluff announced, in partnership with Kardex and AutoStore, it had completed a rapid warehouse automation deployment. The companies went from a signed contract to an operational system in six months.
