Jeff Kittredge, Berkshire Grey principal engineer, explains AutoStore’s CarouselAI at BG’s Innovation Center in Bedford, Mass. during a tour hosted with Kardex April 29.

At Berkshire Grey’s Bedford, Mass. headquarters, Kardex recently demonstrated the new AutoStore CarouselAI robotic picking cell integrated with its FulfillX warehouse execution system (WES).

Kardex and BG offered a hands-on look at how AI-powered robots can efficiently pick items directly from AutoStore bins and place them - not drop them - with precision and speed. Kardex said its integration demonstrates that AI-powered bin picking is not just the future - it’s happening today.

“This is not a concept or prototype - it’s a fully operational robotic item picking solution, integrated with AutoStore and Kardex FulfillX, that you can experience firsthand,” said Mitch Hayes, Kardex Solutions president. “The technology and software are already deployed, proving their reliability and performance in a warehouse environment.”

Demos of BG, Kardex, AutoStore systems

Robotics 24/7 joined Kardex’s customer day at Berkshire Grey’s Innovation Center to get a boots-on-the-ground look at the new AutoStore system powered by Kardex.

Attendees also got an opportunity to see BG’s other automation systems, including its Robotic Shuttle Product Sortation (RSPS) system and a live demonstration of its Robotic Shuttle Put Wall (RSPW). Representatives from BG and Kardex were on hand throughout the day to answer questions from visitors.

The April 29 event at BG was just one of Kardex’s customer days slated for 2025. Additional events were held across the U.S. throughout the spring and summer, showcasing:
