Last week, HAI Robotics announced that systems integrator popcapacity will be adding its automated systems to its portfolio of products.
Georgia-based popcapacity has been around since 2020. The company said it provides “frictionless 3PL warehousing and fulfillment capacity by leveraging marketplace style technology and AI.”
It said its platform was designed to give suppliers and shippers a streamlined platform.
“Our platform was not designed to replace people, but rather to save them time and money with AI-driven efficiencies,” popcacacity said on its website. “We are focused on identifying the best partners based on specific criteria while leveraging the relationship and knowledge our team has developed over the years.”
“We take every opportunity we can to influence our partners with technology,” said Matt Fain, CEO of popcapacity. “It's in our DNA. And by partnering with HAI Robotics, we enhance our warehouses capabilities by now offering robotics and automation solutions to our network. We offer shippers and carriers in our network, more capacity, and overall higher-quality services. It's an important part of our effort to pioneer a truly frictionless supply chain.”
ACR system can do more
HAI ROBOTICS makes what it calls automated case-handling robots (ACR). Its products include the multi-layer ACR HAIPICK A42, the telescopic lift ACR HAIPICK A42T, the forklift ACR HAIPICK A3, and the automatic loading and unloading HAIPORT-powered workstation. The robots are capable of picking up items up to 32 ft. (10 m high).
The company, which was founded in 2016, said its products have been used by 3PLs, as well as by the apparel, e-commerce, electronics, energy, manufacturing, and pharmaceutical industries.
“The HAIPICK solution is the world's first autonomous case-handling robot (ACR) system. It differs from other existing autonomous mobile robot solutions by intelligently identifying the desired totes and cartons, instead of the whole rack, and bringing them to the workstation autonomously,” according to the company’s website.
HAI says it can increase efficiency by up to 130%
The company claims to have helped warehouses increase efficiency by three to four times and storage density by 80% to 130%.
It has approximately 1600 employees, 50% of which are engineers.
“The partnership between pop.capacity and HAI Robotics is a natural fit,” said Ben Gruettner, director of industry sales of HAI Robotics U.S.A. Inc. “With popcapcity pioneering the frictionless supply chain, their growing network can now leverage HAI Robotics for friction free-fulfillment in the four walls. Our flexible and scalable goods-to-person solution will be a great complement to the warehouse needs of popcapacity's partners.”
Last month, HAI Robotics announced that it was partnering with systems integrator Zion Group to to expand its North American presence.
