FANUC

FANUC is a leading producer of industrial robots.

FANUC Corp. is one of the world's leading suppliers of CNC machines, robots, and factory automation. The Japanese company today announced the production of its 750,000th robot.

“With 750,000 robots installed globally, FANUC has become a household name in manufacturing,” stated Mike Cicco, president and CEO of FANUC America Corp. “I’d like to thank our customers, authorized system integrators, suppliers, and employees for helping us achieve such an impressive and important milestone.”

The company said it can currently produce 11,000 robots per month in fully automated factories that use its own robots to make robots, controllers, and machine tools. FANUC, which was founded in 1972, claimed that its products offer reliability, precision, speed, and easy operation.

FANUC serves multiple industries

FANUC’s customer base covers a wide range of industries, including automotive, aerospace, food and beverage, consumer goods, medical and pharmaceutical, and warehousing.

“Now more than ever, manufacturers are embracing automation and robotics to solve production challenges," Cicco said. "I’m proud to say that FANUC is in a position to meet the growing demands for easy-to-use automation solutions that help our customers increase efficiencies, improve their competitive position, and realize a quick ROI [return on investment]. We look forward to helping as many companies as possible achieve their goals.”

Subsidiary FANUC America said it provides CNC systems and industrial automation to help manufacturers in the Americas maximize productivity, reliability, and profitability. The company said its "Service First" culture reflects its commitment to supplying its customers with parts and support for the life of their FANUC products. It recently enabled CNC machines to be programmed through its Quick and Simple Startup of Robotization (QSSR).

Rochester Hills, Mich.-based FANUC America has facilities at more than 20 locations across the U.S., Canada, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico. FANUC is widely considered one of the top robot manufacturers in the world in terms of installed base, along with ABB, KUKA, Mitsubishi Electric, and Yaskawa Motoman.

FANUC this month announced that it will supply a Ford Motor Co. electric vehicle plant in Cologne, Germany, with 500 robots next year.

FANUC’s family of 4-axis SCARA robots has grown to include the SR-3iA, SR-6iA, SR-12iA, and new SR-20iA models with 3kg, 6kg, 12kg and 20kg payload capacities, and a 400-1,100mm reach, respectively.
