LUCID Vision Labs’ ATX450N 10GigE camera, with onsemi’s XGS 45000 CMOS global shutter image sensor, is designed for industrial machine vision applications, such as inspection.

Canadian industrial camera designer and manufacturer LUCID Vision Labs, Inc. recently expanded its Atlas10 series with the release of a new high-resolution global shutter model suitable for machine vision applications including inspection.

The 10GigE model Atlas10 incorporates onsemi’s 45-megapixel (8192 x 5460) XGS 45000 CMOS sensor, which delivers high-resolution imaging capable of 16 frames per second at 8-bit and 10-bit outputs.

“With the XGS 45000, the 3.2 mm pixel size delivers a higher resolution up to 47 full frames per second, or 60 frames per second at 8K video format, while the advanced pixel design ensures low noise performance and high image quality in difficult to see applications like machine vision,” said John Gerard, onsemi VP & GM Industrial and Commercial Sensing. “The combination of our advanced sensor and LUCID’s robust camera design meets the increasing demand for high-performance imaging across a diverse range of industrial applications.”

The new Atlas10 ATX450N camera is now available to order.

With its combination of high resolution, fast readout speed, and low power consumption, LUCID said this new model can provide a boost to industrial imaging applications. The Atlas10 camera is equipped with remote direct memory access (RDMA) technology, enabling reliable, low-latency, high-throughput image transfers with minimal CPU load, making it well-suited for demanding industrial applications.

“This RDMA-enabled Atlas10 camera offers a unique combination of high resolution, fast frame rate, and exceptional image quality,” said Rod Barman, LUCID Vision Labs founder and president. “By integrating the 45-megapixel onsemi sensor, we’re addressing the market demand for higher resolution sensors to capture larger inspection areas in greater detail, making this camera ideal for applications such as flat panel inspection, aerial surveillance, mapping, and electronics inspection.”

LUCID’s Atlas10 10BASE-T camera series is designed for industrial reliability, offering Power over Ethernet (PoE), M12 and M8 connectors, active sensor alignment for optimal optical performance, and an operating temperature range of -20 to 50 degrees Celsius (-4 to 122 degrees Fahrenheit). The new ATX450N model includes a TFL-II lens mount designed for larger sensor formats.

Additionally, the Atlas10 series is fully GigE Vision and GenICam compliant, supporting 10 Gbps data transfer speeds via standard CAT6 cables up to 25 meters (82 feet). LUCID said PoE capability can simplify integration and reduce cost.

All LUCID cameras are supported by LUCID’s proprietary Arena software development kit (SDK), which provides access to the latest industry standards and software technology. The SDK supports Windows, Linux 64-bit, and Linux ARM operating systems, and C, C++, C#, and Python programming languages.
