Wing and Walmart expanded their retail drone delivery partnership to now offer the service to over 40 million Americans.
As part of the NRF 2026 keynote presentation featuring incoming Walmart president and CEO John Furner and Google CEO Sundar Pichal, drone delivery service Wing and Walmart announced an expansion of their partnership outside operations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and Metro Atlanta.
The companies are scaling ultra-fast drone delivery service to an additional 150 Walmart stores over the next year, which will bring the convenience of drone delivery to more than 40 million Americans. Walmart and Wing said they will establish a network of over 270 drone delivery locations by 2027, stretching from Los Angeles to Miami.

“Drone delivery plays an important role in our ability to deliver what customers want, exactly when they want it. Whether it’s a last-minute ingredient for dinner or a late-night essential for a busy family, the strong adoption we’ve seen confirms that this is the future of convenience,” said Greg Cathey, senior vice president of digital fulfillment transformation at Walmart. “By expanding drone delivery to new major metro areas, we are helping more customers solve for their last-minute needs faster than ever before.”

Charlotte and Houston are beginning Wing and Walmart operations on January 15.
