Speaking of SPAC mergers and acquisitions, the biggest robotics-related deal of May 2021 was Plus’ announcement that it will be merging with Hennessy Capital Investment Corp. V. The autonomous trucking company, formerly known as Plus.ai, said it expects the merger to provide $500 million, making its value at that point around $3.3 billion. Plus has retrofitted existing vehicles with autonomous capabilities and plans to mass-produce self-driving trucks with partners as it aims for Level 4 autonomy by the end of 2024.
