Drone pioneer American Robotics picked up for $70.6M

​Marlborough, Mass.-based American Robotics Inc. has developed industrial drones, and its systems were the first to receive U.S. Federal Aviation Administration approval for beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) operations. American Robotics said its technology is useful for critical infrastructure inspection. Ondas Holdings Inc. last month acquired American Robotics for $70.6 million and plans to integrate its systems with its own wireless broadband technology.
