XPO enters into partnership with MIT’s Industrial Liaison Program and adds new board member

October 24, 2019 · With an eye on advancing innovation in the logistics sector, Greenwich, Conn.-based XPO Logistics, a provider of global freight transportation and logistics services, said today it has formed a partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Industrial Liaison Program (ILP), and last week it announced it has added Aris Kekedjian to its Board of Directors.

Shopify set to acquire 6 River Systems for $450 million

September 10, 2019 · Ottawa-based Shopify, a multi-channel commerce platform, announced that it has reached an agreement to acquire Waltham, Mass.-based 6 River Systems, a provider of collaborative warehouse solutions. The purchase price is $450 million, and the acquisition is expected to be made official in the fourth quarter.

YRC Freight Teamsters members sign off on National Master Contract

May 6, 2019 · The Teamsters said that this contract raises wages, restores a week of vacation, and protects benefits. This contract covers roughly 25,000 YRC Freight workers at its YRC Freight Holland, and New Penn subsidiaries and was approved by a 60% to 40% margin. While the votes are in, the contract will not go into effect until the YRC Freight Teamsters Joint Council 40, who rejected the contract, has the required votes.

XPO and Nestlé herald partnership for U.K.-based digital warehouse of the future
