Automate 2025: Bossard to demonstrate IoT for assembly, inventory management

Bossard

Bossard’s Smart Factory Assembly platform offers step-by-step visual instructions, real-time operator guidance, and integrated quality checks through IoT-connected tools.

Global provider of industrial fastening and assembly technology Bossard recently announced it will showcase an advanced digital work instruction process through its Smart Factory Assembly system at Automate 2025 in booth 8403.

The trade show is being hosted by the Association for Advancing Automation (A3) May 12-15 at the Huntington Place Convention Center in Detroit, Mich.

At Bossard’s booth in Hall E, attendees are invited to take part in live demonstrations highlighting practical automation systems that support efficiency, accuracy, and supply chain transparency in manufacturing operations.

At Bossard’s booth, representatives will also offer consultations to help manufacturers identify systems tailored for their specific assembly and logistics needs.

Smart Factory Assembly includes IoT tools

Bossard’s Smart Factory Assembly platform offers digital work instruction technology designed to reduce errors, accelerate onboarding, and increase consistency in assembly workflows. Through IoT-connected tools and real-time operator guidance, the system can provide step-by-step visual instructions and integrated quality checks.

Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the technology firsthand by assembling a take-home item at the booth. Bossard said this hands-on demonstration underscores the impact of digital work instructions in delivering uniform, high-quality results across production lines.

“Bossard’s Smart Factory Assembly solutions allow manufacturers to improve process reliability while minimizing waste and rework,” said Jaime Tiburcio, Bossard VP of smart factory development. “With real-time data and intuitive guidance, assembly teams are better equipped to meet production goals.”

Bossard said the benefits of Smart Factory Assembly extend beyond the assembly line. With connectivity built into every step of the process, its ELAM software allows for real time data tracking on completion times for assembly and quality assurance.

Smart Factory Logistics for supply chain management

In addition to assembly technologies, Bossard will present its Smart Factory Logistics systems, designed to streamline inventory management for B and C parts. The system offers real-time monitoring, automated replenishment, and full transparency across the supply chain.

The Smart Factory Logistics system can help reduce excess stock, avoid line stoppages due to material shortages, and improve responsiveness to actual production demands - benefits which Bossard said are critical for manufacturers seeking to build resilience and flexibility into their supply chain operations.

“Customers of all industry segments want their final products to meet quality and design specifications while getting to market as quickly as possible,” said Lezly Villarreal, Bossard business development manager. “Bossard’s assembly services can help develop their competitive advantage by defining short- and long-term product solutions that optimize their fastener assortment, increasing efficiency and lowering production costs.”
