Nucor Warehouse Systems latest deployment is a 96 foot tall, 273 foot long, and 74 foot wide cold storage ASRS with 7,700 pallet positions on the U.S. East Coast.
Warehouse racking provider and systems integrator Nucor Warehouse Systems (NWS) recently announced the deployment of a 96-foot-tall automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) cold storage structure on the U.S. East Coast.
NWS recently highlighted its racking capabilities for ASRS operations in warehouses at ProMat 2025. The trade show was held March 17-20 in Chicago, Ill.
Partnering with the customer from conception to completion, NWS designed, managed, manufactured, and built the warehouse. NWS said this job aligns with its goal of increased ASRS output, especially with a 9% projected annual growth in warehouse automation between 2026 and 2030.
“Expanding our portfolio of ASRS projects has been our focus as increased demand for automation continues to transform the industry,” said Daniel Aguirre, NWS commercial director. “As labor shortages remain tight and automation grows, utilizing ASRS systems for warehouses is a good choice, and Nucor Warehouse Systems is an ideal partner for projects of this scope.”
The project involved 1,256 tons of steel, including 7,700 pallet positions. It measures 96 feet tall by 273 feet long by 74 feet wide. With access to other companies within Nucor Corporation, this project was sourced and completed all through NWS and its access to materials and services.
