Amazon unveiled its delivery robot program, Scout, in January 2019. Since then, it has been piloting the service in select areas in the U.S.
In July, the company announced it was opening a new development center in Helsinki, Finland. The Helsinki team will work in partnership with the U.S. team to develop 3D software that emulates real life to help train the robot to navigate obstacles.
The fully electric sidewalk robot has six wheels and is the size of a small cooler, according to Amazon.
