Starship was launched in 2014 by Skype co-founders Ahit Heinla and Janus Friis. To date, the San Francisco-based company has done more than 3 million autonomous deliveries around the world.
Starship’s self-driving side-walk delivery robots can be seen in towns, cities, and college campuses. The SAE Level 4 robots can carry payloads of up to 20 lbs and can travel up to 4 miles per hour.
The company claimed that its robots have traveled more than 3 million miles. It recently announced it has raised $100 million in 30 days thanks to the rapidly developing delivery market.
