6. Momenta obtains $500M in Series C funding

On March 29, Momenta announced that SAIC Motor, Toyota, Daimler, and Bosch led its latest financing round. The Suzhou, China-based company claimed that its “flywheel” approach to data, algorithms, and closed-loop automation is helping it to build a “brain” and accelerating development for Level 4 autonomous vehicles. The Momenta GO robotaxi began pilot operations last year, and the company said it expects the first consumer cars with Mpilot to be mass-produced as early as this year. Momenta predicted that its robotaxi will be deployed in large scale and operate profitably and operate profitably by 2024.
