After completing Series B2 and B3 funding, WeRide announced on Jan. 14, 2021, that it had raised a total of $310 million. Yuton Group led the investment into the Guangzhou, China-based developer of Level 4 autonomous vehicles. WeRide has been testing its robotaxi since November 2019, and it said that more than 60,000 passengers completed more than 147,000 trips in the first year of service. The company is also developing an autonomous bus and said it plans to use the investment to “strengthen the stability and safety of self-driving systems, operate our services while adhering to regulations, and strive to bring more self-driving products to the market.”
