Cyngn Obtains Patent for Autonomous Industrial Vehicle Technologies

Cyngn has obtained patents for more of its technologies for self-driving industrial systems.

Cyngn Inc. today said it has received a patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office covering its systems for self-driving industrial vehicles. The new patent, US-11767034-B2, protects the system and method of computation acceleration for autonomous driving systems.

"These patents will play a pivotal role in our mission to deliver exceptional products. The recent addition of Cyngn's newest patent underscores our dedication to pioneering autonomous technology with an unwavering focus on safety and scalability."

Menlo Park, Calif.-based Cyngn said its autonomous vehicle (AV) technologies address current industry challenges, including labor shortages, costly safety incidents, and increased consumer demand for e-commerce.

Patent portfolio grows

Since August, Cyngn said it has announced six additional protections of its proprietary technology. Common themes of the patents include flexible vehicle sensor systems, multi-channel sensing and obstacle detection, computation acceleration, and adaptive systems that use real-world and simulated data, it noted.

The company said its latest U.S. patents bring its total to 16, "further solidifying its position as a leader in the autonomous industrial sector."

Cyngn develops modular AV technologies

Cyngn added that its patents are focused on modularity and flexibility of AV systems with multiple sensor modalities and configurations. It said more information is available at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

The company's DriveMod Kit can be installed on new industrial vehicles at end of line or via retrofit. This enables customers to add self-driving technology into their operations without high upfront costs or the need to completely replace existing vehicle investments, noted Cyngn.

Its Enterprise Autonomy Suite includes the DriveMod stockchaser system and the Cyngn Insight customer-facing suite of fleet management, teleoperation, and analytics tools. It also includes the Cyngn Evolve internal toolkit that allows the company to use data from the field for artificial intelligence, simulation, and modeling.

Last week, Cyngn launched a consultancy to help companies such as Arauco adopt and deploy mobile robots.
