Dexterity
Dexterity has partnered with Sanmina Group to scale manufacturing of its Mech 'superhumanoid' robots for global deployment.
Physical AI and robotics provider Dexterity announced a strategic partnership with Sanmina Corporation, a global provider of integrated manufacturing solutions. Through this partnership, Dexterity said it will utilize Sanmina’s global manufacturing footprint and deep technology background to accelerate the commercialization of its AI technology.
The announcement of the partnership between Dexterity and Sanmina follows the announcement of Dexterity’s Mech ‘superhumanoid’ mobile manipulation robot (MMR). – Dexterity said Mech can navigate complex industrial sites and leverage two arms to lift more than 60 lbs. per arm. This ability, according to Dexterity, exceeds the capabilities of existing humanoid robots.
During the initial production phase, Dexterity and Sanmina will establish manufacturing capacity to meet global demand for Mech across parcel, ground logistics, e-commerce, retail and air cargo sectors.
"This partnership exemplifies Dexterity’s strategy of innovating where it matters and collaborating with best-in-class partners for scale," said Samir Menon, founder and CEO of Dexterity. "Sanmina’s proven expertise in manufacturing at scale enables us to focus on advancing our robotics and AI technologies. Building our Mechs here in California provides strategic advantages, from quicker iteration cycles to stronger oversight of quality and testing."
The Mech assembly and testing processes will take place at Sanmina’s advanced manufacturing facilities in California, tapping into a skilled local workforce and emphasizing Dexterity’s commitment to domestic production.
"We are thrilled to collaborate with Dexterity, a company pushing the boundaries of AI-driven robotics," said Hari Pillai, president, Technology Components Group at Sanmina. "Our comprehensive manufacturing solutions and skilled workforce perfectly complement Dexterity’s innovations, enabling us to meet rapidly growing demand while ensuring superior quality and performance."
