enVista's new AI-powered multi-agent orchestration engine enMotion can manage multi-robot deployments.

Supply chain consulting and enterprise technology provider enVista announced the launch of its proprietary enMotion platform, an AI-powered multi-agent orchestration engine to optimize warehouse and distribution center operations.

The platform is comprised of multiple robotic technologies and dynamically orchestrates multiple automated guided vehicles (AGV), collaborative robotics (cobot) and goods-to-person (GTP) systems. enVista’s enMotion warehouse execution system (WES) and warehouse control system (WCS) will manage the robotic offerings, utilizing GreyOrange’s AI-driven orchestration platform GreyMatter to drive end-to-end movement of orders and inventory in the DC.

Dynamic view of multiple robots at the same time

enVista said that enMotion’s first robotic offering consists of a single and double deep pallet cobot focused on full case selection. enMotion’s robotic technology, powered by the GreyMatter software will provide high efficiency in manufacturing and distribution, reducing travel and search time by nearly 80 percent, according to the company.

Both cobots are equipped with lidar-guided simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) navigation and 360-degree safety scanners for enhanced safety.

“The warehouse is a highly dynamic environment. Every facility is a combination of movements, from materials and people to systems and data, that are working together toward a key business outcome,” said Jim Barnes, CEO of enVista. “enMotion by enVista is entering the market as a suite of solutions that will cover every moving piece in the warehouse and DC. Most notable about our inaugural enMotion solution, enMotion Robotics, is that the power of GreyMatter allows our collaborative robots to remain pallet type-agnostic, providing a flexibility of integration that cannot be found elsewhere in the industry.”

enVista said that enMotion provides a 360-degree view at all times. These autonomous forklift robots navigate using features of the warehouse as opposed to reflectors, enabling them to detect objects and humans, enable course adjustments.

Warehouses can use enMotion as a Robotics as a Service (RaaS) model to achieve fast deployment of scalable warehouse automation in their facilities without capital expenditures.

“AI-powered orchestration has a transformative effect on warehouse efficiency and significantly reduces overall cost per unit,” said Akash Gupta, co-founder and CEO of GreyOrange. “With this solution, enVista and GreyOrange are bringing a whole new level of efficiency, scalability and flexibility to the supply chain. Not only will customers be able to boost their productivity by two to four times, but they’ll also receive payback within six to 18 months of operation.”

enVista is an integrator of GreyMatter Warehouse Orchestration and gStore Retail Software as a Service in GreyOrange’s Certified Partner Network.
