Figure AI intends to ship 100,000 humanoids by 2029

California-based humanoid manufacturer Figure AI announced it plans to ship 100,000 humanoids in the next four years and is building a Center for Humanoid Safety.

Humanoid manufacturer Figure AI made two major announcements in late January 2025.

The California-based company plans to ship 100,000 robots in the next four years, and it is building a Center for the Advancement of Humanoid Safety at its Sunnyvale, Calif. headquarters.

Figure secures second commercial customer

Figure founder & CEO Brett Adcock announced via LinkedIn that the company has secured its second commercial customer. Adcock did not mention the specific customer in his announcement, but said it “is one of the biggest U.S. companies.”

Figure AI’s first customer was German car manufacturer BMW, and the company shipped its F:02 humanoid in late 2024.

The company secured a $675M Series B round in March 2024, valuing the company at $2.5B just over a year after it emerged from stealth mode to manufacture humanoids to support supply chains.

Safety first

In a separate LinkedIn post, Figure AI electrical engineer and safety lead Rob Gruendel announced that the company is building a Center for the Advancement of Humanoid Safety.

Gruendel said the center “will allow us to establish an industry bar-raising safety validation program.”
