Gideon Robotics will deploy its AMRs at Dot Foods' logistics facility in Illinois.
Gideon Robotics and Dot Foods announced a commercial partnership that the companies said is aimed at advancing operational excellence through the adoption of Gideon's autonomous mobile robot (AMR) technologies within the (un)loading bay.
The companies said in a release that the collaboration underscores both companies’ commitment to leveraging state-of-the-art technologies that drive productivity, safety and efficiency.
“At Dot Foods, the pursuit of innovation has been a driving force since day one,” said Troy Schenk, director of automation at Dot Foods. “Technology adoption is one of the key focus areas where we need to prioritize experimentation to understand how new tech can give us a competitive advantage in the supply chain industry.
The companies highlighted the following goals of the partnership:
“Dot Foods provided us with a dynamic environment to truly showcase our capabilities,” said Josip Ćesić, CEO of Gideon Robotics. “With over 1,500 suppliers, multiple pallet types and different loading patterns, these applications were filled with variability, and we were excited to see our tech rising up to those challenges. The partnership also speaks to Gideon’s ability to effectively serve the entire food distribution industry. Most importantly, Dot Foods is a family-owned business of over 60 years, and witnessing firsthand how this is reflected in their passion for team members and their customers was inspiring.”
