10 humanoid robot companies preparing for commercial deployment

As part of its commercialization strategy, Boston Dynamics retired the hydraulic version of its Atlas humanoid robot in 2024 in favor of an electric one. Atlas will be tested for automotive manufacturing applications by Hyundai, which acquired a majority stake in the Waltham, Mass.-based company in June 2021. Boston Dynamics also announced partnerships with the Toyota Research Institute and the Robotics & AI Institute to continue research and development of Atlas.
