Sanctuary AI unveiled the seventh generation of its Phoenix general-purpose humanoid robot in May 2024 - less than a year after announcing its sixth generation Phoenix. The Vancouver, B.C.-based company, funded in part by Canada’s Strategic Innovation Fund, said the seventh generation features improved build quality, smaller hydraulic actuators, lower power consumption and weight, and a faster production time. Using its Carbon deep learning AI, Sanctuary AI improved computer vision, tactile sensing, and decreased the time to learn new tasks from weeks to under 24 hours.
