Apptronik unveiled its Apollo general-purpose humanoid cobot in Aug. 2023. To help improve its mobile manipulation robot’s (MMR) capabilities, the Austin, Texas-based company partnered with the Google DeepMind robotics team to develop Apollo’s embodied intelligence through AI foundation models such as Gemini. Apptronik has also partnered with companies including GXO and Mercedes-Benz, along with securing an equity investment and joint development partnership with Terex. Its most recent development was completing a $350 million Series A funding round.
