10 Humanoid Robotic Companies to Look Out For

We all have seen Boston Dynamics Inc.‘s videos showcasing its Atlas humanoid robots doing backflips and other parkour tricks. The Waltham-based company has been building the robot for more than a decade. It was initially developed for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. It features 28 hydraulic joints, can travel up to 2 meters per second, and weighs 89 kg (196 lb.). Boston Dynamics said the robot takes advantage of “behavior libraries, real-time perception and model-predictive control.”

Humanoid robots may seem like the stuff of science fiction, but these companies are making them a reality.
