10 Autonomous Approaches to Disinfection During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Researchers at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore developed the XDBOT, for “Extreme Disinfection Robot.” The semi-autonomous mobile manipulator includes a Universal Robots collaborative robot arm and sprays disinfectant into hard-to-reach spaces such as under beds or between medical equipment.

Robots can relieve humans from dull, dirty, and dangerous work, but for the past year, extra attention has focused on safe disinfection.
