10 Autonomous Approaches to Disinfection During the COVID-19 Pandemic

​Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (MIT CSAIL) collaborated with Ava Robotics and the Greater Boston Food Bank. They repurposed the Ava telepresence robot for disinfecting large areas against the airborne coronavirus without needing to fill and refill canisters for chemical sprayers.

Robots can relieve humans from dull, dirty, and dangerous work, but for the past year, extra attention has focused on safe disinfection.
