9 Welding Robots to Watch From Fabtech 2021

Hirebotics Cobot Welder

Hireboticscloud-based Cobot Welder system, powered by Beacon, decreases the time required to teach a weld by 60%, which is important as companies seek to combat the shortage of welders, said Rob Goldiez, the company’s co-founder and CEO.

By decreasing the weld teaching time, a company can significantly cut downtime while improving welding quality and productivity, he said.

The Cobot Welder system includes all of the hardware and software needed to get started on an automated welding deployment. This includes a UR10e cobot arm, a Miller Invision 352 MPa cobot package, a Tregaskiss robotic torch, a mobile cart with a standard 5/8-in. diameter on 2-in. center hole pattern, and Hirebotics’ proprietary Cobot Welder smartphone application.

At Fabtech 2021, cobot vendors displayed the latest features and accessories for automated welding, as shops struggle with worker shortages exacerbated by the pandemic.
