9 Welding Robots to Watch From Fabtech 2021

Trumpf TruARC Weld

Trumpf, which had a major presence at Fabtech 2021, unveiled its first automated arc-welding system. The TruARC Weld includes an arc-welding cobot, as well as a partition that can be raised or lowered, enabling users to separate the work area to weld one large part or multiple smaller ones.

In the single-weld configuration, the cobot can weld parts of up to 80x24x24 in. In the other configuration, it can weld parts as large as 24x42x24 in.

The operator simply needs to guide the robot over a part, then the cobot creates the repeatable weld seam.

At Fabtech 2021, cobot vendors displayed the latest features and accessories for automated welding, as shops struggle with worker shortages exacerbated by the pandemic.
